CariVu® Scanner

The CariVu® scanner is a portable wand that uses safe, infrared light and patented transillumination technology to comfortably obtain diagnostic images of the teeth with zero radiation exposure to the patient. Used for the detection of cavities on the biting surfaces and smooth sides of the teeth, it also reveals recurrent tooth decay around existing restorations and cracks in the teeth.

With the CariVu scanner, diagnostic information can be viewed on a screen by the dentist as well as shared with the patient. As a highly accurate diagnostic tool, it serves as a useful adjunct to intraoral films and photos and can offer a viable alternative to x-rays.
